The end of the 1990 Le Mans 24 Hours race with the last lap of the race with scenes of the race winner, Martin Brundle celebrating. First and third looking a certainty for Jaguar. Until, that is, the Brun Motorsport Porsche 962C suddenly slowed to a crawl with just 16 minutes remaining. Wreathed in smoke from a blown engine, it finally ground to halt out by the signalling pits. Pareja opened the door, strode off and didn't once look back. His tears was emulated in the Brun garage. It has been arguably his finest drive of both his and Brun's career, and the team's effort deserved a better reward.
